Abstract:Objective: Vitamin D2 mushroom powder is a new food ingredient that has emerged overseas in recent years, and there have been no published reports on its food safety compliance studies in China. This paper collects the food safety regulations related to vitamin D2 mushroom powder from relevant countries and international organizations, including China, in order to provide references for relevant product development, food safety regulation and consumer guidance. Methods: The production technology and product characteristics of vitamin D2 mushroom powder, relevant laws, regulations and standards at home and abroad were discussed and analyzed. Results: After sorting out and comparing, it was found that vitamin D2 mushroom powder had been listed as a new edible raw material in relevant regulations of EU and U.S.A, while Australia, New Zealand followed the existing regulatory standards. There was no regulation or standard in China about the approvement of the use of this raw material. Conclusion: As an emerging food ingredient, the food trade and food safety regulatory authorities should pay attention to the development of vitamin D2 mushroom powder. It may refer to the relevant regulations and standards of relevant countries and international organizations when implementing product development, food safety regulation and formulating consumer guidance.
