Abstract:In order to implement the “most rigorous standard” requirements, a national food safety standard system has been established initially covering the food chain from farm to table that is primarily consistent with the Codex Alimentarius standards and regulations in major developed countries. This article reviews the relationship between the development of food hygiene standards and food safety standards and the economic and social development in chronological order, as well as the impact of the development of the food industry, international food standards and trade on standards. On the basis of reviewing the changes in food safety standards, it summarized the establishment of the “most rigorous standard” system, and put forward suggestions on how to achieve the goal of establishingthe forefront food safety standards in the world.
