    Abstract:

Polyethylene terephthalate(PET)is widely used in the beverage packaging industry due to its superior performance and safety. The widespread use of PET has produced a large amount of waste PET. The recycling of PET can not only reduce health risk, but also reduce environment pollution and save resources. Recycled PET requires a systematic risk assessment before it can be authorized to be used as food contact material. The United States, the European Union, France and other countries and international organizations have established relevant safety assessment systems for recycled PET materials. This paper reviews the main method and differences of risk assessment of recycled PET materials for food contact in different countries or international organizations so as to provide reference for relevant work in China.
