Analysis of microbial contamination of online ordering food in Yuexiu District of Guangzhou

    Abstract:

    Objective To investigate microbial contamination of online ordering food in Yuexiu District of Guangzhou, and to provide reference for regulatory authorities. Methods Totally 120 online ordering food samples were collected during 2017 in Yuexiu District of Guangzhou. The microbial contamination of the samples, including the total plate count, Escherichia coli, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella,Bacillus cereus and Listeria monocytogenes were detected. Results The total unqualified rate was 39.17% (47/120), the unqualified rate and the levels of the total plate count and Escherichia coli were different among the 5 kinds of online ordering food(P<0.05). The transportation distance of qualified samples were shorter and the core temperature were higher(P<0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed that transportation distance was positively correlated (P<0.05) with the total number of bacterial colonies and the core temperature had a negative correlation (P<0.05) with the level of hygiene indicator. Conclusion The sanitation situation of online ordering food in Yuexiu District of Guangzhou was worring, especially for hygiene indicator. It may cause food safety problems and was worthy of attention.
