    Abstract:

    A thorough study has been made to improve the national food safety standard framework and development mechanism. Some issues around the framework are addressed, including the scope and mandate of food safety standard, the responsible body of standard development, the procedure for the provisional limit, standard release form, the issues related to food additives, food packaging and functional food, food safety standards at local and enterprise level, etc. Some recommendations are provided based on the analysis.
