    Abstract:

    To understand the levels of lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium in seafood of Ningbo in 2012and to evaluate the safety for consuming. Methods285samples of 11representative species were collected in Ningbo and analyzed by GB 5009and GB/T 5009. ResultsThe detection rates of lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium were 93.7%, 98.9%, 98.2% and 97.2%, and the violation rates were 2.8%, 0%, 15.4% and 0.4%, respectively. Heavy metal content in descending order was algae, molluscs, crustaceans and fish.ConclusionThe heavy mental contamination in seafood should be highly concerned, and high content of heavy mental was found in some seafood. Environmental protection should be strengthened during the economic development.
